Last Monday, the Year 6 students travelled to Fremantle to visit the Maritime Museum. Students participated in the Immigration Stories program. They explored the journeys of different immigrants to Australia particularly following the journey of Jim who moved to Australia by himself when he was just 11 years old. Students participated in different role play and master jigsaw activities to support them in building their understanding of Jim’s journey as well as other immigrants to Australia. We then enjoyed fish and chips for lunch at Cicerello’s and a play at Esplande Park before returning to school.
Thank you to our parent helpers Mrs Kingwell and Mr Robertson for giving up their day to come with us.
