On Tuesday, 24th March, the Year 6 class will be going on an excursion to the Fremantle Literacy Centre and Fremantle Prison. The students will enjoy a literature workshop set within a carefully prepared picture book exhibition and enjoy a guided ‘modern and convict’ tour at the prison.
We will be picked up by a bus at 8.50am from St Dominic’s School and return to school by 2.45pm.
This excursion ties in with the Year 6 English and HASS curriculum.
Children will be required to wear the school sports uniform, with their grey polo shirts on this day (Leavers shirts welcome), including a school hat. They should come to school with their normal school bags and lunch. Sun cream is encouraged and will be provided on the day.
Parent helpers are welcome and invited to come along to assist in the supervision of the children. Whilst the Fremantle Literacy Centre will not be charging parents, the prison has stated that only one parent will be free and any more will need to pay $19.00 each. If you would like to join us for this excursion please complete the online parent helper form linked below.
