Year 5 and 6 Tennis and Cricket Day
Wednesday 27 March 2019
Abbett Park and Scarborough Tennis Club
All Year 5s and 6s will be participating in an Inter-school fun and friendly Tennis and Cricket tournament on Wednesday, 27 March, at Abbett Park and Scarborough Tennis Club.
St Dominic’s will field one boys’ and one girls’ tennis team this year, and two mixed cricket teams.
Tennis will be played with “red ball rules”, as per the ANZ Hot Shots program and the Cricket will be played as per the Milo T20 Blast. Both game versions are designed to include players of all abilities and give students a chance to incorporate the Tennis and Cricket skills they have been practising during school sport lessons.
Students should wear their interschool sports uniform (grey polo shirts) including a school hat and bring a water bottle and enough healthy food to last them the day. There are no canteen facilities at the venue.
Students should arrive at school at the normal time on Wednesday, 27th March. They will be transported by bus to Abbett Park/ Scarborough Tennis Club and back to school at the conclusion of the competition. As always, parents wishing to collect their child from the venue must speak to their classroom teacher before doing so. Spectators are of course welcome to come and cheer on the St Dominic’s teams.
If there are any questions please do not hesitate to email me sarah.thompson@cewa.edu.au . I look forward to seeing some of you on the day.
A paper copy of the permission slip located here will be sent home in your child’s bag this week. Please return it to school by Friday, 22nd March.
Kind regards,
Sarah Thompson
