Every year, St Dominic’s School and St John’s Primary School, Scarborough come together during Term 4 to compete in the ‘Raise Your Voice’ competition, which is a competition that provides students with an opportunity to express their views confidently, using appropriate speaking skills. It also encourages students to research and compose a speech that shows a depth of understanding of the topic.
The Year 5 and Year 6 students will be attending the competition to support the students who have been selected to represent our school. This year, the competition is taking place at St John’s Primary School.
Details of the competition are as follows:
Date: Friday, 8th November
Time: 9:15-10:30am
Venue: St John’s Primary School, Scarborough
Transport: Bus (St John’s bus driven by a qualified St John’s staff member)
Cost: No cost to parents
For students to attend the competition as an audience, we require permission for the students to travel by bus to and from St John’s Primary School. Please fill in the permission slip coming home with your child today and return it to your child’s teacher by Wednesday, 6th November, 2019. A digital of this note is linked below.
