On Monday, 18th November, the Year 4 class will be going on an excursion to the Fremantle Literacy Centre and the WA Shipwrecks Museum. The students will enjoy a literature workshop set within a carefully prepared picture book exhibition and have the opportunity to consolidate their learning about the Dutch and their presence in our part of the world 400 years ago.
We will be picked up by bus at 8:50am from St Dominic’s School and will return to school by 2:45pm.
This excursion ties in with the Year 4 English and HASS curriculum.
Children will be required to wear the school sports uniform, with their grey polo on this day, including a school hat. They should come to school with their normal school bags and lunch. Sun cream is encouraged and will be provided on the day.
Parent helpers are welcome and invited to come along to assist in the supervision of the children. If interested, please complete the online form below by Wednesday, 13th November.
A general outline for the day looks as follows:
8:50am – Bus pickup from St Dominic’s School
9:30am – Commence literature workshop at the Fremantle Literacy Centre (4 Knutsford St, Fremantle)
11:30am – Complete workshop and walk to The Esplanade in Fremantle for lunch and a play
1:00pm – Commence facilitated program “Treasurers Tale” at the WA Shipwrecks Museum
1:45pm – Wrap up and prepare for pickup
2:00pm- Bus pickup from The Esplanade, Fremantle
