Year 3 to 6 Faction Swimming Carnival Information and Reminders

Please find attached the information for the 2025 Faction Swimming Carnival, which will be held at Bayswater Waves on Monday the 10th of March, from 10:00am- 2:00pm. Please check this carefully and get in touch with me if you have any queries and I will cross check against the information I have via the nomination form. I have attached a program of events.

Swimming Carnival Program

Some things to note for the day:

  • Students can receive a ribbon for the event in which they race (1st-4th)
  • Champion Boy/ Girl will be based on heat times in 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke and 50m Backstroke. Students do not receive championship points for Open 100m Freestyle.
  • Interschool selection will be based on heat times in 50m events, as well as 100m events. 25m events will go towards faction points only.
  • Students are not allowed to request to be in other races on the day of the carnival.  The events in the program are final.  I will have the information parents provided on the Microsoft Form available to me on the day to cross check.
  • We will have a chief judge watching all races.  Their job will be to adjudicate all races.  Students will be taken through this information the day prior to the carnival.
  • For some of the races, I have had to mix year groups to avoid having only one student in the race. Students will be awarded points for their faction and given ribbons according to where they finished in their year level
  • There will be a break for lunch, please check the program.  Students can eat their morning tea throughout the day.
  • On the day of the carnival, photos or videos should not be taken during races.

Finally, for additional information, please find below a link to the initial communication that was sent out about the swimming carnival earlier in the term.
