On Thursday, 29th October, the Year 3 class will be visiting Servite College for an exciting STEM event. The event will consist of two parts, a tech tour and roller coaster marble race.
The tech tour showcases virtual reality, 3D printing and robotics, providing students an opportunity to observe how technologies may be used to solve problems, now and in the future. Following, students will work across Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, to complete hands-on challenges, investigations and group work, using the engineering design process and systems thinking to complete a Roller Coaster Marble Race. This will help them develop skills in critical and creative thinking, problem solving and innovation, literacy, numeracy, communication and collaboration.
We will travel by bus, which will depart school at 10:15am and arrive back at approximately 2:00pm. Students need to bring their recess and lunch in a small backpack and are required to wear their sports uniform with their grey and white polo top.
I will require a small number of parent helpers who are prepared to travel by bus and assist with activities throughout the excursion. Please let me know if you are able to assist by completing the form linked below. After conducting a raffle of names, I will inform you as soon as possible if you have been selected to attend.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me prior to the excursion date.
