The Year One assembly will be taking place on the last day of this term, which is Friday, 3rd July. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, it will not be performed in front of a live audience, instead recorded and the link shared with parents.
Our assembly is based on the book ‘The Gruffalo’ as we have been learning about the writing genre of narrative during our Writing lessons. We have created a story map about the Gruffalo, we went on a Gruffalo hunt around the school and we shared the book with the Pre-Primary students.
For costuming, the students will be dressed up as different woodland animal if they are the narrators, or as a character from the story who will act out a part. We will be making the masks in class but the students will be required to wear the colours of their animal. We will notify you via Seesaw which animal your child will be for our assembly.
