The Great Book Exchange was held last week as part of the Book Week celebrations. What a very successful event it was! We raised $229.10, which will be donated to the Metta Geha Orphanage in Myanmar. In loving memory of our beloved teacher Mrs Liz Lofthouse, as a school, we continue to commit to supporting the orphanage each year. The money will go towards school supplies, food and more books for the Liz Lofthouse Library at the orphanage.
Thank you to all of the St. Dominic’s families who donated books and money to help this wonderful cause. Also, thank you to Lucinda and Mia, our Year 6 Library Ministers, who gave up their morning tea time to look after the book exchange stall in the undercover area, helping to sell any left over books from the exchange. Watch this space for maybe making the Book Exchange a more permanent and ongoing event at our school next year!
