Student Voice – Monday Morning Year 6 Student Lead Online Assemblies

At St Dominic’s, we provide various opportunities for student voice and leadership.  Students are encouraged to take on leadership roles and actively participate in decision-making processes.  Through these opportunities, students develop essential skills such as communication, teamwork, and responsibility, helping them to become confident and capable leaders within the school community.

Year 6 students at St Dominic’s School have several special leadership opportunities to help them develop their skills and contribute to the school community.  These include roles such as School or Faction Captains or leading through the areas of Spiritual, Library, Environmental and Communication Ministries.  Through these positions, students can lead by example, represent their peers, and take an active role in organising and supporting school initiatives.

Each Monday, our Year 6 student leaders present the work they are doing during an online assembly.  These assemblies are sometimes live and broadcast into classrooms via Teams, or they are pre-recorded and shared later.  To share the great work of our student leaders with the broader community, we have decided to begin posting these special assemblies weekly.  You can watch these assemblies as a window into the school’s activities or revisit them with your children to encourage discussion and independence.

Each week families will receive a link via email to the weekly morning assembly.  We hope you enjoy this additional glimpse into the diverse opportunities provided to our students here at St Dominic’s.
