Staffing Updates

In addition to the staffing updates already provided, the appointment process for the Pre Primary, Year 1, Year 4 and Physed teaching positions has now been finalised.

Pre Primary – Amy Dawson has been appointed to the full time Pre Primary role in 2022.  Amy is originally from Perth, completing her Early Childhood degree at Notre Damn University.  After completing her degree she moved to London for a short period of time and then to NSW for the past three years.  After speaking with the students via a Teams call yesterday, she is very excited about meeting them in person and joining our team.

Year 1 – Simonette Chiappini will be joining us as the part-time Year 1 teacher next year.  Prior to a short break to raise her family, Simonette worked predominately across the early year levels, in several CEWA schools.  After having children, Simonette rejoined the work force in a relief capacity, however, is looking forward to taking on a more ongoing role here at St Dominic’s next year.  In preparation for next year, the Pre Primary students had the opportunity to meet Simonette in person during yesterdays transition afternoon.

Year 4 – Kasey Wheatley has been appointed to this part-time role in 2022.  Kasey is moving to Perth from Queensland later this month, following several years at a Catholic school in Gladstone, where she worked predominately in upper primary.  The part-time role will enable Kasey to also continue working on her Masters Degree in Leadership and Management.  Kasey also had the opportunity to meet the Year 3 students via Teams yesterdays.  She is looking forward to moving to Perth and starting her new teaching role here at St Dominic’s.

Physed – Taking over from Alex on the sporting field will be Mary Elder.  Mary joins us from Holy Cross College, Ellenbrook, where she has worked predominately in the junior school.  Next year, Mary will also be working at St Gerards Primary School, Westminster, which will provide day flexibility if required throughout the year.  Mary is looking forward to her new role and being part of the St Dominic’s School community into the future.

To ensure they are ready for day one next year, all four ladies will be taking part in next weeks staff handover discussions.

I look forward to welcoming and introducing you to Amy, Simonette, Kasey and Mary.
