This winter season there are a lot of people who are homeless, poor and people who are needing our help and their need is especially big during this season. We are going to be holding a winter appeal to donate to the St Vincent de Paul Society where they will use it to help those in need. We should reach out to those who are less fortunate than us because they need our help and would be so grateful to be given something small to help them.
During Term 2 and 3, St Dominic’s School will be conducting a Winter Appeal collecting material donations to support those in the community. These can be sent into the front office where they will be placed in a large donation box or to your child’s class. In Week 10 of Term 3, we will organise for a representative from St Vincent de Paul to come and collect the donations and take them to those in need.
Your kind donations will assist families struggling, please see below what each Year group has been asked to donate:
Pre-Kindy and Kindy: Band-Aids, crackers, plain biscuits or blankets
Pre-primary: Soap, lentils or blankets
Year 1: Hairbrush/ Comb, Oats, Cereal or blankets
Year 2: Toothbrush, dental floss, dried pasta or blankets
Year 3: Tinned beans, hand sanitiser, mouth wash or blankets
Year 4: Tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit, shampoo or blankets
Year 5: Rice, deodorant, gloves or blankets
Year 6: Body wash, long life milk, beanies or blankets
