Thursday, 7th November, is our annual Rice Day. The purpose of this day is to help our children experience, in a small way, the daily struggles many children experience every day and to raise funds for children less fortunate than ourselves.
Last year Rice Day was a great success, and monies raised went towards our annual pledge for the children of Metta Geha Orphanage in Myanmar.
This year, following the sad news of the Metta Geha Orphanage’s closure as a result of the ongoing conflict in Myanmar, we have decided to direct the funds raised to the Archdiocese’s LifeLink appeal.
The current situation for a lot of children helped through LifeLink is heartbreaking, so they need our help more than ever before. We hope that all students will participate.
If your child is not going to participate, please provide an alternative lunch. Students are also asked to drink only water on this day.
What to bring:
- A gold coin donation
- A plastic bowl
- A fork or a spoon
- A plastic bag
- A piece of fruit (for recess)
- A water bottle
Thank you for your support.
