The Pre-Primary and Year 2/3 classes will be attending an excursion to SciTech on Tuesday, 24th October. We will leave school at 9:00am and return to school by 2:30pm.
This term, the Pre-Primary students have been talking about Space. In Year 2/3 we have talked about the importance of technology, how it has drastically changed from the past and is constantly improving into new innovative ideas. To consolidate our learning, we are going to SciTech to learn more about these areas. We will be travelling by bus to and from SciTech and will spend the day exploring the general exhibition in small groups and watching some feature exhibitions in our classes.
We require 4-5 parent helpers from each class. You will be required to supervise a group of children throughout the day. Unfortunately, younger siblings will not be able to attend due to the planetarium age requirement. We understand this may make it difficult for some parents to volunteer and apologise for this inconvenience. If you are interested in being a parent helper, please complete the online form (link below). We will inform you as soon as possible if you have been selected to attend.
Children are required to bring:
- A labelled/ identifiable lunchbox and water bottle that we can place in our class tub to be stored at SciTech until the appropriate times.
- Some students have particularly large lunchboxes, so a smaller lunchbox is preferable.
- Morning tea and lunch inside their lunchbox. Students WILL NOT be able to buy any food or drinks during the excursion.
- Wear their sports uniform (grey and white polo).
If, for whatever reason, you need to contact your child during the excursion, please call the school office who will then contact one of the supervising staff members.
If you have any questions or feel that the proposed excursion may raise issues relevant to your child’s safe and full participation, please contact us to discuss these further.
We are very much looking forward to spending the day at SciTech!
