I am writing to once again seek the communities support with regards to pick up and drop off parking at St Dominic’s School. If parking and collecting your children, instead of using the ‘kiss and ride’ option, please take a moment to read the following information.
Parking is available along Beatrice Street in the marked parking bays and in the Church carpark at the Eastern end of the school. Although a bit further away, street parking is also available along Marion Street and at the Western end of Beatrice Street, where a safe walking path can be followed to the main school gate.
Please note, that parking along Beatrice Street opposite our offical carpark has been gazetted by the City of Stirling as a no standing zone between 7:30am – 9:00am and 2:30pm – 4:15pm on school days. Parking here not only runs you the risk of a fine, it also poses a significant safety risk for other road users, our students and family members. The City of Stirling Ranger regularly patrols the area, taking down number plates and handing out warnings/ fines.
It has also been reported by members of our school community and neighbours in the area, that cars have been stopping regularly during these times along Beatrice Street. Stopping along Beatrice Street in front of the school and having children jump out of the car is not safe and once again poses a significant safety risk for other road users, our students and family members. Families are asked to either safely park or use the ‘kiss and ride’ driveway.
I understand that parking can sometimes be difficult, particularly during the busier drop off and pick up times, however, your assistance with the above will ensure a greater level of safety for our whole school community.
