On Friday, 30th October, St Dominic’s students and staff came together to celebrate Patron Saints Day. This event occurs close to All Saints Day each year here at St Dominic’s and it is a time when we promote and recognise our school faction patron saints; St Catherine of Siena, St Thomas Aquinas, St Rose of Lima and St Vincent Ferrer. We began this years event by coming together in the hall to listen to some history about each of the saints and then headed out to our tabloid sports activities. The activities were tug-of-war, musical bobs, a sponge and bucket water relay and a teaching dunking machine. We finished off the very hot afternoon by enjoying an icy pole together before heading home. Thank you to the Year 6 leaders and sports captains who helped to organise and run the events, and to the Foster family for organising the dunking machine. Thanks also to all the students for their teamwork, respect, cooperation and encouragement within their faction. It was a great day! Click on the link below to see some of the photos from the day.
