As promised, I am writing to provide an update on the progress of finding an onsite before and after school care provider here at St Dominic’s. Since my last communication earlier in the year (see link below), I have met with several out of school hours care providers but have been unable to secure their services at this stage.
I am continuing to actively pursue other options, however, as we move towards the end of the term and the start of Term 2, I would like to confirm with you that we are able to continue offering our families the service provided by OSHClub at Yuluma Primary School.
OSHClub staff will continue to walk children attending before school over to St Dominic’s, and to ensure the after school option remains available, St Dominic’s staff will carry on safely escorting students over to Yuluma P.S. in the afternoon.
Several processes have been put in place this term to ensure the safety of those students attending the after school service. Those attending the program sit under the supervision of staff with the students departing school via the kiss and ride gate. Following the departure of the kiss and ride gate families, two staff members, normally Alex Paljetak and I, walk the students attending OSHClub safely over to Yuluma P.S. Each morning OSHClub staff provide us with a list of enrolments for the day, which we check off prior to departing.
Kindy students using the service remain with Kindy staff in their room until 3:00pm before being brought out to the kiss and ride gate.
