As was previously communicated earlier in the year, our Year 3 and Year 5 students will be taking part in the NAPLAN Online Assessment in Week 3 of Term 2. Please see below a link to the previous communication.
For your reference, below is a timetable for the assessment period. Please note that this timetable is subject to change.
Tuesday 14th May – Writing Assessment
Wednesday 15th May – Reading Assessment
Thursday 16th May – Language Conventions Assessment
Friday 17th May – Numeracy Assessment
Catchup assessments for those students who are away on any of the above days will take place during the week commencing Monday 20th May.
The Year 3 students will be using the computers in our lab to complete the assessment and our Year 5’s will be completing the work on their individual iPads in the classroom setting. Both the lab computers and Year 5 iPads have a special lockdown browser installed, which the students will use during the assessment.
To assist the students to familiarise themselves with the structure of the assessment, the teachers will be taking the students to the NAPLAN Public Demonstration Site early in Term 2, where they can see an example of each assessment. Over the holiday break, using the link below, you may also wish to have a look at this site with your children.
Please contact your child’s classroom teacher if you have any questions regarding the national assessment.
