An excursion has been organised for our Mini Vinnies group to visit the Depot of St Vincent de Paul. The children will be hosted by Colin Krause, The Youth Services Coordinator of St Vincent de Paul Society. During our time there, the students will be taken through the establishment to learn how the charity helps so many people in our community. They will be participating in an activity led by Mr Krause and discuss how we, as a small school community, can action our own works for charity and service to others. We will take along with us the donations made during the St Dominic’s Winter Appeal and some letters the children have written for the needy. It provides an opportunity for the students to fulfil part of their commitment pledge: …caring for others in my community by being a friend to those who are alone, in need or in trouble.
Students will be transported to and from the venue by bus. We will depart at 8.50am and return to school at approximately 11.30am. They will need to wear their full winter school uniform and bring their morning recess in a separate labelled bag.
Date: Wednesday, 26th June 2019
Venue: 9 Brewer Road Canning Vale
A permission slip will be coming home with those children who are part of the Mini Vinnies team. Please complete the permission slip and return it to the classroom teacher by Monday 24th June. A copy of the permission slip can also be downloaded via the link below.
