On Wednesday, 26th June, 2019, we went to the St Vincent de Paul Society in Canning Vale. Our tour guide, Colin, took us around the Vinnies warehouse and showed us what Vinnies sell and give to the poor. They have lots of items in the huge warehouse like clothes, blankets, beds, TVs, tables and a lot more. He told us that they give a lot of things to the poor and homeless but also to other people who might be struggling to set up their home. After morning tea, we went inside and packed eighty bags full of deodorant, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes and tissues for the homeless people. They were going to be sent up to Geraldton. Colin said we were a great team and put together all the packs quickly. He thanked us for the care cards we wrote, and all the donations collected at our school. We left after that with a “pretty good feeling inside” knowing that we had helped others.
