Keeping Safe Child Protection Curriculum Parent and Carer Workshop – Wednesday 24th July

As you may have seen promoted earlier in the year, two opportunities for families to attend a Keeping Safe Child Protection Curriculum Parent and Carer Workshop were planned.  The second of these two opportunities is on Wednesday, 24th July, commencing at 6:00pm in the school hall.  Details for the upcoming Wednesday event are below.

Did you know?

Approximately 1 in 5 children will experience child sexual abuse.

It is a requirement of the Non-Government Schools Registration Standards that all students receive a protective behaviours and sexual abuse prevention education.

The Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum (KS:CPC) is a child safety and respectful relationships curriculum for children taught in all year groups at St Dominic’s School.

The program provides age and developmentally appropriate strategies to increase children’s safety.

On Wednesday, parents, carers and grandparents are encouraged to attend the Keeping Safe Parent/ Carer Workshop, presented by Justine O’Malley, St Dominic’s School Social Worker, to learn how they can reinforce the Keeping Safe themes, focus areas and topics at home:

Focus Area 3: Recognising and reporting abuse ·
