On Thursday, 11th of November, 2021, St Dominic’s School were lucky enough to be invited to the Regional Cricket Carnival at Yokine Reserve. This was as a result of the same 8 players participating in, and emerging victorious from, the more localised Catholic schools cricket carnival a few months back at Abbett Park..
8 boys from Years 5 and 6 played their hearts out and left with their heads held high. Not to mention a couple of wins under their belt. All boys improved over the journey, which is all we can ask for. Cricket is a testing game, especially when events on the field aren’t going your team’s way, and I am glad to report that the boys were able to wrestle back momentum when it was lost in all 4 games played. This is a sign of a fighting spirit and resilience.
At 11:00am all games paused respectfully for one minute of silent reflection.
Special thanks to the parents – Brett, Amanda, Gemma, Justine, Rachel, Vanessa and Craig for coming along and supporting the boys on the day and/or car pooling.
