On a fortnightly basis, the Pre Primary and Year 1 students will be coming together on a Wednesday afternoon to participate in an investigation and rich play-based session. The door between the two classrooms will be opened and between 1:20pm – 2:00pm, the children will be given lots of opportunities to carry out activities in many different areas such as, Creative Corner, Construction Area, Science Table, Reading Corner, Outdoor Play, Home Corner and the Maths Area, just to name a few.
We believe that it will provide the children with extra social interactions with other boys and girls in the different grades. It will also encourage further development of oral language and communication skills, the use of problem solving and enquiry strategies and a chance to use their imagination by exploring the different learning areas between the two classrooms.
The teachers are just as excited as the students as we have many great activities planned for future afternoons!
