Harmony Week – Wear a touch of orange on Harmony Day

Harmony Day is approaching and forms one part of Harmony Week, which runs from 15th to 21st March every year. Harmony week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background. It is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism.

To mark Harmony day at St Dominic’s, we would like all students to wear a touch of orange on Tuesday, 21st March. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmoney Week. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversation. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.

Students are encouraged to wear a touch of orange that day, to show their support for cultural diversity. It could be a hair ribbon/scrunchie or a wrist band. An orange piece of clothing like a top or socks. Something suitable. There is no need to go out and buy an orange item.
