On Thursday, 20th October, a Farmyard on Wheels will be visiting the Kindy students!
A Farmyard on wheels provides an informative, entertaining and tailored experience, specifically for this age group. The children interact with and learn about the following farm animals:
- 1 x Sheep
- 1 x Goat
- 1 x Miniature Horse
- 1 x Farm Dog
- 1 x Duck
- 1 x Goose
- 1 x Rooster
- 1 x Hen
- 1-2 Rabbits
- 50 Baby Chicks/Ducklings
- 10 x bottle fed animals including, Lambs, Kids and Piglets
An hour-long presentation couples an entertaining show with an educational talk about each of the farm animals. The children meet and learn about the role on the farm of a rooster, a hen, a duck, a goose and a farm dog. The special features of sheep, goats, rabbits and miniature horses are discussed.
Children get to help feed a bottle of milk to the lambs, kids and piglet as well as hold the baby chicks and ducklings.
This will be a great afternoon for our Kindy students and ties in nicely with our curriculum theme this term ‘farm life’.
If you have any questions or feel that the proposed incursion may raise issues relevant to your child’s safe and full participation, please contact me to discuss these further.
