Today at St Dominic’s, we practised our emergency evacuation procedure with the students. This was a planned practise that teachers spoke to the children about prior to the event. I am writing to let you know, as they may come home and speak about it with you tonight.
With the commencement of our build now imminent (Capital Development Plan Update #4 coming this week), and with several of our classrooms relocated for Term 3 and 4, it was particularly important to practise this procedure with our students this term.
Throughout the year, we practise both the lockdown and emergency evacuation procedures to ensure that, in the case of a real emergency, we are prepared and ready to act. These practices and procedures help to ensure the safety of all in our community and provide us with the opportunity to review and modify aspects if required.
