Dear Parents and Staff,
This year our school goes on holiday as we start the celebration of Holy week and Easter.
While I take this opportunity to wish you all a restful and safe holiday, I am very conscious that we are living through some incredibly challenging and uncertain times. In fact the word “uncertain” is being used so much in the media at the moment. People are “uncertain” about the financial future of the world, about the end of global conflicts, and future health of the planet. Closer to home, many are “uncertain” about employment, finding a home, managing finances and mental health. All in all it’s a challenging picture!
For Christians, this coming Easter Week provides a way to hope in the midst of life’s challenges. This week we will journey with Christ from Palm Sunday, through to Holy Thursday, Good Friday then Easter Saturday/ Sunday. This is a journey of hope, as love and forgiveness shine through the darkest of days. This week we will celebrate the Church’s most beautiful ceremonies as we experience the very hope, love, forgiveness and strength of Jesus Christ together. He is alive! He is our hope and strength through life’s challenges.
I take this opportunity to warmly invite you to join in our Holy week and Easter celebrations. Share these powerful celebrations with your children and let hope grow in our hearts. I especially invite parents to bring their children to the Easter Vigil Service, where we will have a special prayer time for children, Easter egg hunt and a bonfire followed by supper. I wish you all a blessed and peaceful Easter.
