Over the last 3 weeks, students in Year 3 to 6 have been participating in AFL Clinics run by AFL WA. With the Winter Lightning Carnival coming up in Week 9, this was the perfect opportunity for the Year 5 and 6 classes to practice gameplay, with the Year 3 and 4 classes refining their skills.
Lachy, who plays for Subiaco Football Club, came out to our school to teach the students about kicking, marking, handballing and even a bit of tackling. Our 5 and 6 students will be playing a hybrid AFL 9’s competition at the Winter Carnival, so for them, it was great for them to incorporate these skills into gameplay, even with the limited space we have.
