Last Monday we celebrated Harmony Day here at St Dominic’s. Harmony Day is a day that celebrates the multiculturalism of our country. Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australian’s, regardless of the cultural or linguistic backgrounds.
As we could not gather as a school, to celebrate our differences, classes came out to the courtyard to hang hands on our Harmony Tree. Students created their own individual hand in class last week to represent their interests and cultural backgrounds. Some drew what they were interested in, while others drew flags acknowledging their cultural background.
