On Thursday, 19th of August, St Dominic’s will hold its faction carnival at Yaluma Primary School for Kindy to Year 6. Last year, we were unable to have the Kindy’s involved due to it being on a Wednesday, so it’s great to have the Kindy’s involved this year.
The event will run similar to last year, with students moving around stations in their year levels. Last year’s carnival was a big success, and we are looking forward to more of the same this year. Let’s hope the rain holds off. There will be a DJ, as well as the world famous P&F Sausage Sizzle. More information about this will come out as it comes to hand.
Again, we will have Timing Solutions providing us with gates to time student races. Students will be given ribbons for individual races, however, interschool selection will be based on times in heats. On the day of the carnival, please do not ask for student times, a link with information on how to access student times post carnival will be sent to all families.

- A schedule of events. Please note that this year, we have put some of the running races together for year levels to limit the need to constantly move the timing gates that Timing Solutions provides for us.
- A map with the layout of the carnival. The dots in blue are where the tents will go.
- A program of events. Here, students will be able to identify which heats they are running in. In regards to the organisation of races, we have based the running events on times run in last years carnival. Please note that we have had to separately give you the link to the Year 5 Girls races as they are merged with the Year 4 Girls.
- A parent helper form can be found here Athletics Parent Helper Form. Please fill this in if you can help. Last year, the day ran so smoothly because of the amount of parents who put their hand up to help. In particular, parent helpers for long jump (x 6), throws (x 3), team games, setting up and packing away are greatly appreciated.
