We couldn’t be prouder of the effort and sportsmanship displayed by every St Dom’s swimmer at Monday’s Interschool Swimming Carnival. What an amazing day with so many amazing performances.
Being a small school, we are always asking our swimmers to step up, swim in extra events, fill in for sick or injured team mates, swim against older kids or swim an event that’s not a favourite. No matter what the challenge, St Dominic’s swim team were up for it!
So many ribbons were won and we can’t leave out the brilliant across-the-board performances in the breaststroke events, clearly our strength!
Whilst we were 7thoverall, St Dominic’s once again finished second in the Most-Improved shield (we’ll win it soon, surely??) and the results show that our total points won, was more than last year, so we ARE improving.
Huge thanks must go to everyone that supported and encouraged our swimmers this year. Parents for facilitating their children’s attendance at training, the P & F for organising the new (and very fancy) swim caps and liaising with Tuart Hill Swimming club to make some connections for St Dominic’s students who want to swim more. To Mr Bovell for being on deck at Tuesday morning training sessions, Mr Sullivan, Mrs Martin and Mr Bolding for all your hard work on the day and last but not least the amazing swimmers themselves. Thanks for giving it everything, you are all stars.
Time now to dust off the running shoes – Term 2 is all about Cross-Country. Have a wonderful (and restful – you all need it!) holiday.
